City invites community to May 7 community dialogue on economic mobility and opportunity
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville, in partnership with the University of Virginia Center for Community Partnerships, will host a community dialogue focused on economic mobility and opportunity in Charlottesville on Thursday, May 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Carver Recreation Center (233 4th Street NW).
“Dinner, Dialogue, and Data: Economic Mobility and Opportunity,” will provide an opportunity for residents to share a meal, review key data related to financial security and economic mobility in the City, and engage in meaningful conversation about a shared vision for community economic thriving. This event is part of the City’s work to build a citywide, community-informed economic mobility and opportunity strategy that brings together City departments, community organizations, and residents to identify barriers, align resources, and co-design solutions that expand opportunity.
Dinner will be provided for attendees. Residents who need childcare, translation services, or other accommodations to participate are encouraged to contact Abigail Matthew Wade at matthewwadea@charlottesville.gov by Thursday, April 30 at 5:00 PM.
